Neuropsychological Assessment

A neuropsychological assessment provides a “road map” for diagnosis and intervention by systematically probing abilities and behaviors that correspond to specific aspects of brain function and social-emotional processes. Processing information, working quickly, remembering information, and juggling work/home related tasks can be very frustrating for the adult with selective medical, developmental, and educational disorders. Compromises in these areas can directly impact work and daily life functions. A neuropsychological assessment provides an accurate and thorough evaluation of cognitive and social-emotional processes that are important to consider in the diagnostic and intervention planning phases. The type of neuropsychological assessment will vary depending on its purpose. An assessment may be required by the referral source to determine the etiology underlying the suspected difficulties that the individual is experiencing on a daily basis. Specifically, an assessment may be required to identify and describe a life-long learning disability, to determine whether an individual's presenting complaints are related to brain and/or emotional involvement, or in determining an individual's ability to benefit from a particular medical treatment or rehabilitation program. In summary, a neuropsychological assessment is an integral and necessary component of the diagnostic process. It is crucial for providing direction for medical/educational team management and remediation planning purposes. Fees: 600 euros for a complete basic Neuropsychological assessment. 600 euros for complementary assessments. 1000 euros for in depth complete assessments.

Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy

Cognitive rehabilitation therapy has been defined as a systematic and functionally oriented therapeutic cognitive activity directed to achieve functional changes by (1) reestablishing or strengthening previously learned patterns of behavior or (2) establishing new patterns of cognitive activity or compensatory mechanisms for impaired neurological systems. The rehabilitation of cognitive deficits following brain injury has shown significant growth over the past three decades. Recent reviews of published studies suggest that cognitive rehabilitation is the best available form of treatment for people who exhibit neurocognitive impairment and functional limitations following brain injury. At present, there is substantial evidence to support interventions for attention, memory, executive function, social communication skills, and comprehensive–holistic rehabilitation after traumatic brain injury. There is also evidence to support interventions for visuospatial impairments after right hemisphere stroke, and for aphasia and apraxia after left hemisphere stroke. Fees: 70-100 euros/session, depending on the program for non complex cases (Learning disabilities, ADHD, depression, mild TBI, ischemic stroke, mild to moderate epilepsy). 150-350 euros/session for complex cases (moderate to severe TBI, haemorragic stroke, professional athletes, brain tumors...), to which data analysis fees as well as program revision and creation fees, as well as platform access fees are added. Other fees can also apply for patient specific needs. Please discuss your rehabilitation wishes with your neuropsychologist for a program that is tailored to your specific needs and overall expectations.

Psychological Assessment

Psychological assessment is the systematic evaluation of a person's behavior. The components of psychological assessment include the variables selected for measurement (e.g., beliefs, social behaviors), the measurement methods used (e.g., interviews, observation), the reduction and synthesis of derived data (e.g., whether summary scores are calculated for a questionnaire), and the inferences drawn from the data (e.g., inferences about treatment effectiveness). Psychological assessment affects the evolution of all social, cognitive, and behavioral science disciplines. The accuracy with which variables can be measured affects the degree to which relationships among behavioral, cognitive, environmental, and physiological events can be identified and explained. For example, our understanding of the impact of traumatic life stressors on immune system functioning, the relationship between depressed mood and self-efficacy beliefs, the effect of social response contingencies on self-injurious behavior, and the degree to which presleep worry moderates the impact of chronic pain on sleep quality depends on the strategies we use to measure these constructs. Psychological assessment also affects clinical judgments. In adult treatment settings, clinical psychologists make judgments about a client's risk of suicide, whether treatment is warranted for a client, whether a client should be hospitalized, the variables that affect a client's behavior problems, and the best strategy for treating a client. Psychological assessment also helps the clinician select intervention goals and evaluate intervention effects. There are many paradigms in psychological assessment. A psychological assessment paradigm is composed of a coherent set of assessment principles, values, assumptions, and methods of assessment. It includes assumptions about the relative importance of different types of behavior problems, the variables that most likely cause behavior problems, the most likely mechanisms through which causal variables operate, the importance and role of assessment in treatment design, and the best methods and strategies of assessment. A psychological assessment paradigm also includes guidelines for problem-solving, decision-making strategies, and data interpretation. Psychotherapy

In psychotherapy, psychologists apply scientifically validated procedures to help people develop healthier, more effective habits. There are several approaches to psychotherapy—including cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and other kinds of talk therapy—that help individuals work through their problems. There are many different approaches to psychotherapy. Psychologists generally draw on one or more of these. Each theoretical perspective acts as a roadmap to help the psychologist understand their patients and their problems and develop solutions. Your psychologist may combine elements from several styles of psychotherapy. In fact, most therapists don’t tie themselves to any one approach. Instead, they blend elements from different approaches and tailor their treatment according to each patient’s needs. Fees: - 105 euros/session (Day hours from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM) - 150 euros/session (Night hours from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM).
